Rs. 9,000

A Tussar saree with embroidered border is a stunning blend of rustic elegance and intricate craftsmanship. The Tussar silk fabric’s natural, earthy texture creates a beautiful backdrop for the delicate embroidered border, which can feature a variety of design elements—from floral motifs to geometric patterns, or even traditional Indian embroidery styles like Zari, Resham, Zardozi, or French knots.

Here’s an overview of the key features and styling options for a Tussar saree with an embroidered border:

Key Features of a Tussar Saree with Embroidered Border

1. Tussar Silk Fabric

  • Texture & Feel: Tussar silk is known for its coarse texture and natural sheen, which provides a rustic, organic appeal to the saree. It’s lighter than many other silks, making it comfortable for long durations.
  • Durability: Tussar silk is relatively durable compared to other silks, which makes it a good choice for formal and festive occasions.
  • Breathability: The fabric is breathable, ensuring comfort even in warmer weather, making it suitable for both daytime and evening wear.
  • Aesthetic: The fabric has an earthy charm, and its lightweight nature allows intricate designs to shine without making the saree feel too heavy.

2. Embroidered Border

  • Types of Embroidery:
    • Zari Embroidery: Golden or silver threads are used to create delicate patterns like paisleys, floral motifs, or geometric shapes. Zari adds a touch of luxury and elegance to the saree.
    • Resham Embroidery: This is thread work using silk threads in vibrant or pastel colors. Resham embroidery often appears in floral or intricate vine patterns.
    • Zardozi Embroidery: A more opulent form of embroidery that uses metallic threads along with pearls, beads, and sequins to create rich and ornate patterns. It’s perfect for weddings or grand occasions.
    • French Knot & Mirror Work: Small mirrors (called shisha work) and French knot stitches can be used to create sparkly effects and add dimension to the border design.
    • Kashida or Phulkari: These are traditional styles of embroidery often used on Tussar silk, incorporating floral, geometric, or vibrant designs with hand-stitched threads.
  • Embroidery Placement: The embroidery is often placed along the border and pallu of the saree, but it can sometimes also be found scattered lightly across the body of the saree, depending on the design. The border may feature intricate patterns, while the pallu might showcase more elaborate work, often with a central motif.
